Splitting a AVI file into two parts

·       If audio is CBR use VirtualDub if VBR open in NanDub

·       From the “file” drop down menu select “Open Video File”

·       Locate and open your AVI file

·       Set both Audio and Video to “Direct Stream Copy”

·       Move the slider all the way to the right.

·       Look at the number of frames down in the bottom text box

·       Divide that number by two in a calculator

·       Move the slider all the way back to the left until frames show zero.

·       Press the “Home” Key on your keyboard

·       Now press and hold the “shift” key and move the slider to the closest number to the one you divided

·       Once you found the right place release the “shift” key and press “end” on your keyboard.

·       Then from the “File” drop down menu select “Save as AVI” and save it where you wish. NOTE THIS ONLY SAVED THE FIRST PART

·       Ok now do not do anything with the slider and just press “home” on your keyboard.

·       Then move your slider all the way to the end of the movie and press “end” on your keyboard.

·       From the “file dropdown menu select “Save as AVI” and save it where you wish

Audio synch problems relate normally to the fact that some people split files by using regular frames as their cut points, not key frames
